Exhaust Gas Aftertreatment


A new product for the AMESim?platform is now being launched by IMAGINE: IFP-Exhaust.


This innovative tool is the result of the partnership signed between IMAGINE and the IFP (Institut Fran鏰is du P閠role) and allows R&D engineers to simulate with high accuracy the complex emissions of exhaust systems.



It offers an open architecture for different analysis and optimization in exhaust gas aftertreatment:

  • Catalytic Converter Efficiency
  • Light-off Optimization.
  • Best location of the catalyst converter

Benefits


Thanks to the IFP-Exhaust library, AMESim?makes it possible to consider the chemical reactions resulting from 12 different gas species, taking into consideration all kinetic aspects. Furthermore, the key feature resides in the ready-to-use models of a 3-way catalytic converter, HC trap, Nox trap, oxygen storage, diesel oxidation catalyst, diesel particulate filter, etc. IFP-Exhaust also provides validated components for pipes, volumes, exchangers, sensors & valves to model the after-treatment components right up to the complete exhaust line. A full after-treatment system of the exhaust line is thus defined and enables the analysis of the HC, CO and NOx conversion efficiency.
